I get to see and play with many preparedness products and most of them will serve their intended purpose. So its pretty rare when I get excited over a product, especially one as simple as a face mask. The other day I received the Washable Antimicrobial Mask made by Breathe Healthy in the mail.
Now I am sitting here wondering how do you test a facemask. I am no scientist and certainly don’t have the necessary equipment. So first of all I tried it on and with the way it adjusts it fits my face perfectly. It was comfortable and stayed on well. Now that’s all good, but I wanted a better test and then it hit me.
I am very allergic to grass and weeds, I have not cut my lawn in years. In the past I have tried other masks and they did not fit well and as a result were unsatisfactory.
So I put on the mask and charged out to cut the lawn. An hour later I was finished and was still breathing normally, no coughing or wheezing. Now I have no way of testing this mask with bacteria, but I know it works well with pollen. The mask was comfortable and stayed tight the entire time, no stopping to reposition the mask or to tighten it. I am sold on it and I think my wife is planning to order some more. I think she has plans for me doing more yard work in the spring now that my excuse is gone.
The masks are available at the following link https://www.breathehealthy.com/. They come in both adult and children sizes and in many colors. They also make a fleece mask for cold weather. The only thing I didn’t like was the price. They cost $14 apiece. But since there are washable and replace a number of throwaways I guess that is not so bad. It will be cheaper in the long run.
I recommend it.
